San Diego Social Venture Partners brings great people together to dramatically impact San Diego philanthropy.   

We are an organization of 140 committed individuals who help San Diego nonprofit agencies become more effective and sustainable.

Engaged partners are at the heart of our organization. We come from diverse backgrounds in business, law, medicine, philanthropy, and the arts. What unites us is our desire to make a difference in San Diego and our belief that leveraging our dollars with our time and expertise will maximize our impact in helping those in our
community in need.

Did you know?

• SDSVP donated over $3 million in cash and in-kind services to the community last year which translates into a leverage of $9 for every $1 from Partners.
• SDSVP helped to position Corporation for Supportive Housing to house 232 formerly homeless disabled individuals while receiving the services independent living.
• Thanks to SDSVP, Community Resource Center is now leading the county in self-sufficiency program planning.

The partners of San Diego Social Venture Partners (SDSVP) contribute our time, expertise and resources to help nonprofit organizations become more effective and sustainable.

We apply the power of business to the passion of giving by using a venture capital model to generate outstanding results in the nonprofit sector. We pool our resources and apply proven business methodologies to help carefully select nonprofit organizations and help them achieve their goals.

Each SDSVP Partner makes an annual financial contribution and participates in decisions about how to put their collective investment to work. Partners provide volunteer support in areas including marketing & public relations, finance, technology, strategic planning, board development, fund development and human resources management. We estimate that San Diego Social Venture Partners currently contribute over 13,000 hours of volunteer time annually to the six nonprofits currently active Investees.

Each year SDSVP partners choose an investment focus area, and we make two investments in San Diego-based nonprofits. In our eight years of existence, we have cultivated 275 philanthropists and contributed in excess of $7.6 million in cash and in-kind services to deserving San Diego non-profit organizations. We take a long-term perspective, and our relationships with Investees typically span 3+ years.
