Opportunities with Investees & Nonprofits

Marketing Resource Team

  • Audeo Charter School - needs help with strategic marketing guidance. Time commitment: 3-4 months, approx 2 hours/wk (UCSD will handle collateral material). 
  • Nativity Prep - needs assistance amending the content/language of their website, which will then match to brochures, mailers, etc. for their capaign to build a new campus.

Lead Partner Team

  • Partners who wish to have a greater level of involvement with our Investee organizations and SDSVP should consider joining a Lead Partner Team.  This is an opportunity for you to share your time and talent with a nonprofit by acting as a Lead Partner where you manage the capacity building efforts and act as the go-between for SDSVP with the Investee. Time commitment: 5-10 hours per month, ongoing.

A Reason To Survive (ARTS)

  • Volunteer Van Go! Driver:  Responsibilities include driving 15-passenger van to and from partner sites in San Diego, van and ARTS center maintenance, and other light duties as assigned. Class B license required. Contact: Huyla at hdarrigo@areasontosurvive.org

ElderHelp

  • Hands-on volunteer opportunities: 1) Drivers, 2) Direct service (i.e. visiting the elderly in home, gardening, pet care, etc.) and 3) Clerical (i.e. answer phones, office work, etc.) Contact Cynthia Beisigel at cbeisiegel@elderhelpofsandiego.org. Opportunities within SDSVP

Business Operations Resource Team, Member - Partners with any type of business background or expertise are invited to get involved with the Business Operations Resource Team. This team consults with Investees and other nonprofits in San Diego on an “as needed” basis to help them build capacity on the business side of their organization. Whether you have time to dig in on a project or just would be willing to be available for questions in your area of expertise, we welcome your involvement! Time commitment: Extremely flexible and can be customized to meet your availability.

Communications Working Group, Content Writer - Write articles about events, Investees, Partner profiles, press releases, and issues in philanthropy. Time commitment: 2-4 hours per month, ongoing.

Portfolio Working Group, Member – This committee of Partners serves as the caretaker of the SDSVP model and investment portfolio; supports and oversees our Investees and Lead Partners. SDSVP recently selected two new Investees. We need four new Partners on the team to help us review and monitor these new investments. Time commitment: 2-4 hours per month, ongoing.

Investment Working Group, Member - Our community investments are chosen by a committee of SDSVP Partners who want to learn more about the community, advance the SDSVP model and select excellent investments for our Partnership. Time commitment: 2-3 hours per month, September through March.

Social Committee, Member - Each quarter SDSVP hosts a party organized by the Social Committee. Member responsibilities involve determining party venue and theme, selecting caterer, greeting guests and miscellaneous party duties.  Time commitment: 10-15 per quarter
