Working Groups
Investment Working Group determines which nonprofit organizations we choose as “Investees”. Currently, we go through one grant cycle each year and each grant cycle gives a new group of Partners the opportunity to participate in this highly rewarding process. The Investment Team is made up of Partners who serve for a term of approximately six - nine months. Team Members first learn about their area of focus in the community through a discovery process, and then develop the evaluation criteria for reviewing applications and proposals, conducting site visits and selecting the final Investees.

Portfolio Working Group sets up the initial Lead Partner Team for Investees and assembles the initial Annual Plan. In addition, the Team works with Lead Partner Teams to ensure the success of SDSVP capacity building programs with the Investees. The Portfolio Review Team approves Annual Plans, developed by Investees and Lead Partners, and reviews progress for each Investee on a semiannual basis.

Membership Committee leads the charge of increasing our Partnership size to the critical mass necessary to provide current and future nonprofits with not only financial support, but necessary professional expertise, as well. Team members develop recruitment strategies, meet one-on-one with potential Partners referred by SDSVP Partners and sponsor quarterly socials for existing and potential Partners.

Partner Engagement Team is responsible for managing the Partner experience, including all elements related to Partner orientation, engagement and retention. They match up Partners’ time and expertise with the needs of our Resource Teams, Committees and Investees. Partner engagement is a critical component to the success of SDSVP and our Investees.

The website houses general information about our organization, including a password protected Partner Zone for confidential information. Also, the Team writes and disseminates media releases.

Advocacy & Policy Committee helps our Investees leverage their capacity building success into larger efforts, moving beyond day-to-day program operations and into systemic change. Initiatives include facilitating sector-wide approaches and collaborations, working with legislators and officials to affect public policy, and making connections to different funding sources.
