San Diego County will add one million people in the next 20 years. How can we grow while remaining a great place to live? SDSVP supports a better future for San Diego with its Environment Accelerator Fund. We support groups working on "green development," including environmentally sensitive "green" building, better land use, and smarter transportation. The Fund helps connect environmental nonprofits with philanthropists and leaders from government, business, and academia. We support a strategic approach to growing and strengthening the region's environmental groups.

The Environment Accelerator Fund (EAF) was created in 2006 by SDSVP to focus specifically on the environmental needs of San Diego and its surrounding region. Launched with raising $1 million as it's first year goal, the Fund is nearly completed. We are in the process of creating an Environmental Policy Center Group as our focus area.  Creation of this center is expected in the first half of 2008.
